Please be advised that, under Chapter 183 (Article I) of the City of Port Republic Code, all city-owned open space properties listed in § 183-2 are closed to public access during the designated hunting season (November 1 through December 31 each year, excluding Sundays).
These areas include: Block 11 Lot 65; Block 24 Lot 18; Block 34 Lot 3.01; Block 36 Lot 1; Block 31 Lots 1 and 2; Block 37 Lots 5 and 7; and Block 692.01 Lots 1, 3, 8 and 9.
Only licensed hunting and trapping permit holders are exempt from this closure. Public use (hiking, dog walking, trails, etc.) is explicitly prohibited during this time.
Violations of this regulation may result in penalties including fines up to $2,500, imprisonment up to 90 days, restitution, and/or community service. Each day of non-compliance is a separate offense.
We ask all residents and visitors to respect this regulation to ensure everyone’s safety and to comply with our municipal code. We will update you when the trails reopen for general use.
